Hidden London Highgate High Level

Gail Brodholt is a painter and printmaker of the contemporary urban landscape. Her work depicts the London transport network and the journeys made across the city on tubes, trains and in the car: the unconsidered backdrop to our daily lives. She works in her purpose built print studio in Woolwich, South-East London.

Somerset 300gsm printmaking paper and linseed oil based inks are used for this print. Four lino blocks are used to create the linocuts and print each one over a few days (to allow each layer of ink to dry). Each linocut is printed on an Albion press, made in 1841.
