Please try not to doze off on the Victoria Line. The new automatic trains are so quick that you're liable to miss your stop. Of course if you're awake and in a hurry you're going to find this new rapid route across London a great blessing. For example it now takes a mere four minutes to get from Victoria to Oxford Circus. Remember how long it used to take? London's new tube is designed to make the rush-hour more bearable by moving people more quickly and taking the load off other lines. We only wish we could abolish the rush-hour altogether - but that would be difficult until they abolish work.
This is an information poster published in 1969 by an unknown artist. Using a ‘comical’ photograph and a passage of, in parts, light hearted information, which informs customers about the new automatic trains and the increased speed with which they will travel on the Victoria Line. Whilst taking the form of an information broadcast it also gives information to the commuter about how services have improved on the London Underground.
