This striking football poster was designed by Anna Latrina Zinkeisen to advertise the FA Cup Final match between Manchester City and Portsmouth at Wembley Stadium on 28th April at 3pm, 1934. The match was won by Manchester City in a 2–1 win over Portsmouth. London Transport used poster art to inform passengers of many sporting events over the years, the results being very popular.
Anna Zinkeisen designed posters for London Transport between 1933 and 1944.
Anna Zinkeisen, sister of Doris Zinkeisen, was born in Kilcreggan, Scotland and studied at the Royal Academy Schools in 1916 where she won several medals.
