The Underground group published this poster in 1924. Horace Taylor's colourful design shows a party of sophisticated diners being entertained by lavishly dressed dancers at a City function. Taylor produced another poster that year entitled 'Brightest London is Best Reached by Underground'. For this he used the same bold style to depict passengers descending into the Underground by escalator.
In the 1920’s depictions of London as a vibrant city filled with glamorous outings to be had by lovers of arts and culture were heavily represented on the London Underground. Taylor, from London himself, studied at the Camden School of Art, the Royal Academy Schools in London and Royal Academy in Munich.
