This birds eye view of Wimbledon stadium entitled Wimbledon, was designed by Gerald Dickson for London Transport in 1926. The use of such a vibrant green for the centre court and the lawns outside the stadium draw your eye around the poster. Barely visible payers move around the court, their size helping to demonstrate the grandeur of this impressive tennis stadium. The games at Wimbledon are accessible by Underground, this poster calling to travelers on London’s transport to attend a match via Southfields station and thence by special bus to the ground. Gerald Dickson designed posters for London Transport between 1925-1926. His works for London Transport include collaborations with other notable artists of the time, one such poster, The panorama of London, saw his working with Frank Adams, Eric George Fraser, Ernest Wallcousins and Reginald Percy Gossop (1925).
