Images depicting the London Zoo are the most featured on the transport network. In the 1920’s at least two images advertising the zoo were displayed per year. Of the zoo images, this stunning image by Charles Paine is the most popular image of all time.
Between 1920 and 1929 Paine produced over twenty images for the London Underground, many of which are still widely popular today. Paine most notably worked with Frank Pick to drive the push for commuting and emphasis the desirability of suburban living.
